Are Sensory Sculpture Instruments easy to install?
Our instruments are easy to play and also easy to install. Each instrument is sent with a clearly laid out installation guide. The instruments come ready to use. We also offer the option to send a representative to your community and install the instruments.
Do I need to be musical to play these instruments?
Anyone and Everyone can play pleasant sounds on our instruments without any formal training. For the majority of people it takes years on conventional instruments such as violin, piano, and guitar to sound intermediate. Our installations create a unique atmosphere where experts and the complete beginner can enjoy themselves.
From what materials are Sensory Sculpture instruments made?
We choose to make our instruments from Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Ipe and Mahogany Hardwood because they are high strength materials that are corrosion resistant. Our instruments are durable to UV Radiation, extreme temperatures, humidity, and salt air conditions.

Are Sensory Sculpture Instruments for Schools?
Sensory Sculpture’s outdoor musical instruments are a powerful way to mix outdoor play with education. One musical instrument is enough to support many generations of young learners’ wellbeing and development . We recommend purchasing more than one because children love them.
Many of our instruments use an inter-cultural scale known as the pentatonic scales are inter-cultural. This scale is so easy to play and allows kids to develop musical skills without prior formal instruction. Pentatonic scales are a fundamental building block that allow kids to make exiting music without dissonance or advanced technical training. Early musical exposure is an important part of human development and everyone should have access to this type of experience.
With a musical playground you give kids a place for interaction and learning with music. Our instruments are a great way to empower kids with the freedom to create without borders.
Where are Sensory Sculpture Instruments made?
Sensory Sculpture’s musical instruments are made across the continental USA at the best maker labs. We source as local as possible to where ever we are manufacturing to help reduce our carbon footprint.
Our instruments are tuned by classical trained musicians to ensure perfectly pitched music notes!
What size are the instruments?
Instruments are made to be accessible for adults and children. For kids under 6 the instrument can easily be set lower to accommodate. We are working on a section of the website with all the instrument specifications available for download.
How are the instruments mounted and which should I order ?
Ground mounted installation is with the post(s) concreted up to 3′ into the ground.
Surface mounted installation is with the post(s) attached to flange that is bolted to the ground usually into concrete. This is a good option when the cost of excavating concrete or surface material is impractical for installation.
How much does all of this cost and what is the cost of Freight?

What if I can’t find exactly what I am looking for? Custom orders?
We offer full customization on notes, color, and material. We understand that every play space is different and is why we offer specialized orders.
